Hey, All! It's been a minute! After an unplanned month long break from social media this past month, I'm starting to ease back into things here on the blog and with work now that spring break has wrapped. To be honest, I think when I started doing all of this (during the first year of lockdown), I grossly underestimated what life would look like with two VERY active 3rd and 5th grade boys in multiple activities. As I'm sure you can imagine, the time commitment for their schedules and activities is much different than when they were in K and 2nd when lockdown started! So while I'm not sure just yet what my posting and sharing content schedule will look like, I wanted to deliver some of your favorites from this past week. This list of 6 items is pulled directly from the items I've shared on Instagram that were the most liked/purchased in the last week. If you want to see all the things I've recommended - just head to my IG page (@OneRealMomma) and check out the highlight at the top called "March Links".
First up is my new - plus size friendly - crossbody waist bag. Finding a waist bag that fits at the waist and also allows me to wear it as a crossbody (AND that also holds all the family's things while we're on the go) has been a challenge! I've had my eye on this bag for a long time and I finally went for it before vacation. My only regret is not getting one sooner! I traveled with this bag all over Florida during spring break, used it while at the airport and beach, and continue to use it daily here at home (especially now that ball season has started). The waist strap measures 55+ inches when you include the length of the bag (20 inches longer than most!)
If you've followed me for any amount of time, you know I have a ridiculously large collection of gold necklaces from MadeByMary. I started switching over to gold almost 10 years ago and didn't really look back. However, I didn't wear them daily until I switched to wearing only MadeByMary pieces (because they are just that good!) I shared this Hera Gold Chain this past week because I ordered the same ones I'm wearing in the picture above, but in sterling silver to try something new! I can't wait until they get here so I can report back. For my daily gold chains and pendants, I sleep - sweat - shower - and swim in them (some of my favorites are going on almost 4 years), and they have not tarnished and look just as good as when I got them! I can't recommend them enough!
Alright, the above pic of me wearing these pajamas is obviously a real life shot - taken just seconds after waking up this past weekend. But the fact that I'm willing to share this pic just so I can tell you how amazing these pjs are must mean something! I think they run generous in size (you might be able to size down one for a closer fit) -but for me, I wanted something super loose and silky for the upcoming hot nights this spring/summer. Only $25 a pair and they come in 4 different prints and colors (I have the wild patterned ones pictured above too) - they're truly the best! I plan to grab at least one more color, if not both!
I have 6 pairs of these joggers and wear them non-stop (I feel like I talk about them once a quarter, so I'm guessing many of you have them by now too - but they made the list again!) These are available in straight and plus sizes and are high waisted (thin athletic material with a wide waist band that hits a few inches under your bra). I size down in these so they look more like leggings. If I wear my normal size, they gap at the waist! Keep that in mind if you grab them. I usually wait for a sale of at least 30% off and then stock up (if new colors come out ;-) )
This bra (called a bralette on the website) comes in 2 colors, black and mint. I grabbed the mint color on vacation when I realized I forgot to pack my sports bra. What a happy little accident (shout to out Bob Ross) because it let me stumble upon these in store (when I was convinced I'd find nothing!). There are no wires, it is not a racerback style (it has standard straps) and it uses a normal back hook closure (no need to slip over my head). I grabbed the black color as soon as we were home because I loved (and wore) the mint one so much. They are available up to a 3x and only $15 each! I'd say the support is comparable to my medium impact (true) sports bras - which is saying a lot from a 46DD!
These jeans are FINALLY back! I got them last season and I was panicked they had been discontinued. They did come back with just a few changes though: They are high waist, but they may even be extra high waist this season? It's not uncomfortable at all (great stretch) but they feel like they sit just a smidge higher. The waist on this year's release will run a bit more snug compared to last year. I'm ok with this, because I have a 15 inch difference between my hips and waist, but if you are someone that has previously had to consider a waist band being tight, definitely plan to order your normal size, not down a size. And the last change I noted is the inseam is just a bit longer this season - the current version measures 27" (so ankle to full length). Pictured above I'm in the charcoal gray color - but I have the other blue colors as well. All equally great!
Alright - those were your top 6 from the past week. Feel free to reach out to me via direct message on IG if you have any specific sizing questions.
